Nestled in the heart of Cala Major lies the charming establishment of La Negra Criolla. Although a far distance from the Dominican Republic, the Caribbean restaurant exudes the same vibrant charm that can be found on the tropical island.
The project was a true creative experiment where there was freedom to experiment with a wide range of colours, textures and furnishings. Here, there was a strong focus to work exclusively with recycled and upcycled materials, giving new life to elements in a meaningful and sustainable way.
Bold and alluring hues were chosen to characterise a vibrant and inviting eatery whose gastronomical offer would certainly match. Vivid colours were chosen to infuse energy into the premises, making it a warm and enticing place to dine, with its walls being carefully reworked to bring out a rugged style.
In the new room the kitchen is in full view with stools attentively placed in front, connecting diners to the heart of the restaurant. In the next room, an elegant bar counter has been integrated, with a multitude of bottles adorning its turquoise-coloured walls.
The aesthetic of the restaurant is taken care of in delicate and curious details, resulting in a space full of exquisite charm.
Shelves have been filled with an array of fascinating memorabilia and personal treasures, giving life to an eclectic and emotive space. The vintage aesthetic is completed with the implementation of glass and iron lamps, filling the room with warmth and light. As well as a selection of original tables and chairs, wooden benches have been upcycled with headboards, giving added character to the space.
Colour, charm and intricacy define the new establishment, with the new interior design awakening the senses in a warm and inviting environment.
La Negra Criolla has the ability to transport diners directly to the Caribbean, through an interior design that is harmonious to the region’s character
